Our Speaker

Rev. Dr. Tim Wray

Ranching with his family northeast of Calgary, Tim is a fourth-generation farmer on the family homestead.

Living on the family farm has brought a number of gifts into Tim’s life:

  • closeness to nature
  • inter-generational relationships
  • manual labour
  • integration of faith
  • the thrill of the harvest, and
  • a sense of place.

Throughout his adult life and studies, Tim has enjoyed various opportunities to engage in rural life. In 2015 Tim and his wife, Joanne, moved back to the farm. He, his uncle, and his dad together manage 3000 acres of grassland and feed crops.

Tim is the pastor at Lutheran Church of the Master (Airdrie) and is involved with Circle M (Centre for Rural Community Leadership and Ministry) and the ABT Synod Care of Creation ministry team.

Tim is an alumnus of the U of A Faculty of Agriculture (BSc) and Lutheran Theological Seminary Saskatoon (MDiv, DMin).
